McClure: Clearly given up The Ark fight.
UPDATE: 12th December 2009 – If you’ve found this page looking for a call to arms about The Ark magazine then I’m afraid the links you’ve followed are incorrect. It was only relevant if you thought Jon McClure had any kind of integrity which it has come to light he hasn’t.
A week or two after his rantings about the NME he praised them for putting Dizzee on the cover. He was then linking to them on Twitter as his latest video was being showcased on there. So the NME suits him when it benefits him it would seem.
Last week he claimed he was ‘done fighting the NME’ as he was too busy making ‘boss tunes’. So like Lily Allen and her argument over music downloading, he gave up the fight when someone else took over.
And the icing on the cake. Touting the Reverends New Years Eve gig at Koko in Camden. Who are the hosts? NME.
If you’ve got principles, values and beliefs then stick to them. Don’t abandon them when the opposition cut you an easy deal.
To quote The Stranglers: ”What ever happened to the heroes?”
